Day 10: Build in public

The first step to building in public is documenting your work as you build. This post includes at least 3 things that I’ve worked on or thought about today. Maybe these notes will turn into social posts. Regardless they tell the story of my journey. My founder’s log.

Praise for our Joyn community!

Yesterday’s founder convo was really well received!

Diving into Nos.social

I starting a master doc to deep dive into Nos which is a Nostr client. While I’m excited to learn about how it works, I’m apprehensive because I can tell that the people who built Nostr are not my people. It feels weird digging deep into their code, articles, and tutorials.

My video got taken down

My latest video on TT got marked as a community guideline violation today for something about regulated services and sexual content. Meanwhile, it had nothing to do with those topics: it was a video about using AI to build an app.

This was a very light taste of what it is like to be a content creator, moderated by a centralized platform that serves as your sole distribution channel. It seems like owning your content and your distribution channel is very powerful. Kind of like “owning” your audience via an email newsletter.
