Day 4: Build in public

The first step to building in public is documenting your work as you build. This post includes at least 3 things that I’ve worked on or thought about today. Maybe these notes will turn into social posts. Regardless they tell the story of my journey. My founder’s log.

Building a new community

Yesterday I was able to sit down and plan the rest of the month. I’ve been wanting to do an ultralearning project this month and realized I should center it on learning how to build a successful online community.

Ultralearning is about intensity and direct action. In addition to participating in and runnning online communities, I am listening to the book Get Together which is a deep dive into building communities with people.

Today I reached out to a couple people telling them my idea for “culture coders” and asking if they would want to do it with me.

Asking someone to start a community with me

Ultralearning project

Funny enough someone in a Slack community that I am apart of invited folks to join an ultralearning group that he is organizing. This provided a great way for me to experience a community call led by someone else and I potentially have some structure and peer support for my own ultralearning project.

Stickers are here!

I finally followed up with a designer I was working with to get Founder’s Log stickers. Here they are.
